Students
Welcome
to Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. If you choose to enter the U.S. under
the J-1 student category, you must meet one of the
following requirements:
- If
you or your program are financed directly or indirectly
by the U.S. Government, your home government, or
an international organization of which the United
States is a member by treaty or statue;
- The exchange program
is carried out pursuant to an agreement between
the U.S. Government and a foreign government;
- The exchange program
is carried out pursuant to a written agreement between:
- The exchange visitor
student is supported substantially by funding from
any source other than personal or family funds.
Degree Seeking Students
If
you are accepted into a degree granting program at RBHS, you
are required to register for a full course load each
required semester. A full course load is typically
a minimum of 9 credits for graduate students and 12
credits for undergraduate students. The total time alloted in this category is based on the length of the program.
Non-degree
Students
If
you are participating in the non-degree category,
you are required to conduct research in the laboratory
on a full-time basis. The non-degree category is used
for foreign nationals that are students in their home
country and will conduct research in the U.S. The total time
allotted in this category is 24 months.
